Siliguri, 20th December: Six individuals were arrested by Bhakti Nagar police in Siliguri before they could carry out a planned criminal act.
The incident came to light when police received a tip-off about a group of criminals planning a major crime near PC Mittal Bus Terminus in Siliguri. On reaching the location, several suspects attempted to flee, but six were apprehended by the authorities.
The arrested have been identified as Nepal Rajbanshi, Tapas Das, Parimal Roy, Subrata Sarkar, Mohammad Ismail, and Bapi Mahato. Sharp weapons were also recovered from their possession.
The detainees were presented before the Jalpaiguri court.
