Fulbari, 06th January: In a shocking incident, the body of Fulbari resident Mohammad Khadem was found hanging from a tree near his home on Tuesday morning, spreading grief across the Chunavati area.
Reports indicate that Mohammad Khadem and five other members of his family were not included in the SIR daft list, and they had been summoned for a hearing. Khadem, a taxi driver by profession, had reportedly been distressed after returning home from the hearing. He had been missing since Monday night, and his body was found near his residence on Tuesday morning.
Police from NJP Police Station reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination.
On receiving the news, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, Trinamool Congress Dabgram-Fulbari Block President Dilip Roy, and other local leaders visited the family. Mayor Deb assured support to the family and pledged to look into the matter.
