Siliguri’s Mahamaya Sporting Club to hold Kali Puja inspired by celebrations in Naihati

Siliguri, 21st October: Siliguri’s Mahamaya Sporting Club is set to organize a Kali Puja inspired by Naihati’s Boro Ma puja. Notably, with just a few days left for Kali Puja, preparations are in full swing across various locations.

Reportedly, this year marks the 45th anniversary of the Mahamaya Sporting Club’s Kali Puja. Additionally, it will be the second year of the club celebrating the Goddess. Last year, the club’s celebration attracted significant attention from the local community, prompting them to continue this tradition and offer the residents of Siliguri a chance to experience the blessings of the deity annually.

Local artisans are crafting a 21-foot-tall idol of Goddess Baro Ma. The club members are optimistic about drawing a large crowd, similar to last year. Club member Bishal Dutta added that they planned to distribute prasad (offerings) during the celebrations.
