Siliguri, 07th March: In a proud moment for the city, Vivek Singh, a resident of Gandhi Nagar in Ward No. 43 of Siliguri, has been commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. He received his commission on 07th March 2026 after completing his training at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai.
Vivek Singh is the son of Ravi Shankar Singh. He completed his schooling from BSF School in Kadamtala, Siliguri, and later pursued his graduation from Salesian College.
His father runs a garage on Burdwan Road while his mother is a homemaker. Coming from a modest family background, Vivek’s achievement has brought immense pride and happiness not only to his family but also to the entire locality. Residents said his success would inspire many young people in the area to serve the nation.
