Siliguri, 26th October: Cyber police have arrested a youth identified as Badal Sahni, a resident of Prakash Nagar, for allegedly making obscene photos of a minor girl viral on social media.
According to cyber police sources, the accused had taken obscene photos of the minor on his mobile and subsequently circulated them on social media platforms. Following this incident, the minor filed a complaint at the cyber police station on September 29. Acting on the complaint, police initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest of Badal Sahni from Prakash Nagar on Wednesday. Sahni was presented in court and remanded for three days for questioning.
During interrogation, the cyber team discovered that a total of four individuals were involved in the case, with three suspects still at large. After the remand period ended, Sahni was once again presented in the Siliguri court on Saturday, where he was ordered to remain in judicial custody.
Currently, the cyber team continues its investigation into the case and is actively searching for the three absconding suspects.
