Siliguri, 31st December: A woman staged a sit-in protest in front of her lover’s house alleging of being betrayed. The incident surfaced from Siliguri’s Tikiapara, No. 02 Matangini Colony area.
Reportedly, the woman was in a love affair with Deblal Shah, a resident of the said area. However, a few days ago, the accused lover promised marriage to another woman. As soon as the woman came to know about the incident, she staged a dharna in front of his house. She alleged that Deblal and his family refused to accept her.
A complaint has also been lodged at the Siliguri police station following which, the accused was detained by the police.
On the other hand, the woman was thrown out of her own house following this episode. She now wants Deblal to marry her, failing which, she threatened to commit suicide in front of his house.
