Siliguri Traffic police with the help of a woman return lost bag filled with valuables

Siliguri, 27th January: The Siliguri traffic police returned the lost bag filled with valuables to the rightful owner, on Wednesday.


Dilip Mahato, a resident of Gurung Basti in Siliguri, was returning home after purchasing gold ornaments from a shop located on Hill Cart Road. He accidentally left his bag containing valuables in the toto (e-rickshaw) he was travelling in.


According to police sources, a woman travelling in the same toto saw the bag and informed the traffic personnel at Venus More. The traffic police contacted Dilip through the details in the cash memo of the gold shop and handed over the bag.

Dilip Mahato said that the bag might have fallen out of his pocket while he was taking out his toto fare. He said that he realised the grave loss after reaching home. He immediately contacted the gold shop and was informed that the bag was with the traffic police.
