Siliguri school bus owners face difficulties due to COVID-19 lockdown

Siliguri, 22nd May: As all the educational institutions are shut down due to the pandemic, the school bus owners are living in severe crisis and are struggling to make ends meet.


Several bus owners alleged that they are unable to give salary to the drivers as the institutions have not paid them the contract money. The owners stated that they are also facing difficulties in paying their vehicles’ insurance.


School and Chartered Bus Owners Welfare Association Secretary Shuvro Banerjee stated that the matter has already been reported to the State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb, who has decided to hold a meeting with them soon.
