Siliguri: Political atmosphere boils up in Ward No. 24 over tearing down of election campaign banners

Siliguri, 08th January: The political atmosphere boiled up in Ward No. 24 after CPIM candidate Indrajit Chanda and independent candidate Bikash Sarkar’s election campaign banners were found torn.


Reportedly, on Saturday morning, supporters of Indrajit Chanda and Bikash Sarkar found their campaign banners torn down near Bharatnagar Athletic Club in Ward No. 24.

In this context, CPIM leader Indrajit Chanda accused the opposition of doing such an act in fear of losing the election. On the other hand, independent candidate Bikash Sarkar also alleged that the act was done following the orders from the ruling party.


Meanwhile, Ward No. 24 Trinamool candidate Protul Chakraborty claimed all allegations as baseless and conspiracy against TMC.
