Siliguri, 28th October: Ahead of Diwali, the illegal sale of banned firecrackers has been operating under the guise of legitimate businesses. In a proactive move, Siliguri Police conducted a raid at a stationery store in the Milanpally area on Sunday, uncovering a stash of prohibited firecrackers and arresting one individual.
With the festive season approaching, the demand for firecrackers has led to an uptick in clandestine sales, prompting the Siliguri Metropolitan Police to intensify crackdowns across the city.
According to reports, the Siliguri Police station has been conducting ongoing operations to root out similar illegal activities. Authorities confirmed that such operations will continue in the days to come.
