Siliguri, 23rd February: Siliguri Police Commissionerate has launched a commendable initiative to resolve the traffic congestion and traffic-related issues in the city. Under the new initiative, the Commissionerate would now accept suggestions from the citizens to bring a solution to the rising issue of traffic. Significantly, the individuals who would provide valuable suggestions to solve traffic problems would be honoured every month.
According to reports, on Thursday, the ‘Safe Drive Save Life’ program was organized at Siliguri’s Mahatma Gandhi More (Airview More). The program witnessed the presence of Siliguri Police Commissioner (CP) C. Sudhakar. During the programme, the CP revealed the new initiative.
In this regard, Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar stated that the individuals who would provide valuable suggestions to solve traffic-related issues would be honoured. He added that 60 new traffic constables would be appointed and would be entrusted for surveillance after 9 p.m., to curb road accidents.
