Siliguri, 21st September: The Siliguri Metropolitan Police has introduced pink mobile patrolling vans to enhance women’s safety in the city. The initiative was officially launched on Saturday by Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar, who flagged off the two patrolling vans.
These vans, deployed in both the East and West zones of Siliguri, aim to strengthen security for women. Each van is staffed by a woman police officer and five women constables. A help desk number is also displayed on the vehicles, allowing women to seek assistance.
Commissioner C. Sudhakar emphasized that the initiative is designed to curb crimes against women and provide immediate help to women in distress. The pink mobile patrolling vans will play a key role in ensuring that women feel safer in the city and have a dedicated resource to turn to in case of criminal incidents.
