Rajganj, 07th October: The West Bengal State Police have initiated a Community Policing Program, under which, a social service was commenced on Saturday under the initiative of the Siliguri Police Commissioner.
According to reports, there is a tribal locality in Garadhura located in the Gadheyagachh area of Rajganj. They mainly support the families by working as tea estate workers and daily wage laborers.
Today, through a program, police distributed school bags and notebooks to 50 school students of that tribal locality. Apart from that new sarees were distributed to 50 poor women. Two footballs were also provided for the sports enthusiasts.
The event witnessed the presence of Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar, ADCP (Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police) Subhendra Kumar, DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Jay Tudu, DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Traffic Abhishek Gupta, OC (Officer in Charge) of Ambari and NJP police stations, and Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmad and others.
