Siliguri MLA urges change in school timings amid scorching heat

Siliguri, 23rd September: Residents and students are suffering as Siliguri has been reeling from extreme heat over the past few days. Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh has written to the state education minister Bratya Basu seeking for change in the school schedule.


According to reports, school students are facing problems in extreme weather conditions. Many are suffering from sickness after travelling to school. As a result, the MLA has written to the state’s education minister asking to change the school schedule. He requested to hold school from 8 am to 11 am.

Ghosh stated that the entire North Bengal, including Siliguri and the hills, is experiencing extreme heat this year. School students are suffering from going to school in such weather. To address the issue, the MLA requested that the school hours be changed from 8 am to 11 am.
