Siliguri, 02nd October: Round Table India and Ladies Circle India along with Siliguri Metropolitan Police celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with specially abled children of Howrah South Point School, Kartowa.
According to the information, 10 CCTV cameras were installed in the school on behalf of the Siliguri Round Table 220 and Siliguri Ladies Circle 140. Gaurav Sharma, Commissioner Siliguri Metropolitan Police inaugurated the CCTV setup followed by clothes, shoes and goodies distribution to the children. This school has about 45 specially abled children and they are looked after by the NGO.
Commissioner Gaurav Sharma motivated the children by talking to them and personally listening to their problems. He also assured the In-charge of the school Daliya Dhara of continuous support and help towards the school.
Rahul Singhania, Vice Chairman of Siliguri Round Table 220 along with Cr. Neha Singhania, Chairperson Siliguri Ladies Circles were present with other members of the organisation. Various senior officers from Siliguri Metropolitan Police were also present on the occasion.
Round Table India is a social organisation of young men below the age of 40 and their motto is freedom through education. Round Table India has built over 5000 classrooms across India and about 20 classrooms in Siliguri for underprivileged children. They also conduct various other charitable programmes throughout the year.
