Siliguri Metropolitan Police forms ‘Anti-Sabotage Team’ ahead of Durga Puja

Siliguri, 02nd October: In preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police have taken extensive measures to enhance security throughout the city. Reportedly, over 2,000 police officials will be deployed on the streets to ensure the festivities proceed peacefully.


According to reports, the police have established an ‘Anti-Sabotage Team’ that will monitor the crowds at various puja pandals to prevent any unwanted incidents from occurring. Upon detecting suspicious behavior, the officials are authorized to take immediate action. Additionally, the Anti-Sabotage Team will be present within the crowds and conduct surprise checks during the festivities to prevent criminal activities.

On Wednesday, Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar held a press conference where he unveiled a Durga Puja guide map. During the event, DCP Tanmay Sarkar emphasized that the Anti-Sabotage Team has been specifically formed to prevent crime and ensure the safety of all city dwellers.
