Siliguri, 19th June: In the aftermath of the Rangapani train accident, controversy has emerged over an alleged false complaint filed against the deceased loco pilot of the goods train. However, injured passenger Chaitali Majumdar claimed that she did not file the complaint. On Wednesday, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb visited Majumdar at her home.
Reportedly, Mayor Gautam Deb, accompanied by Tapas Chatterjee, Councilor of Ward No. 32, met with Chaitali Majumdar and her family. Mayor Deb expressed his concern over the incident, stating that he would investigate the matter further.
Gautam Deb emphasized that coercing a signature from the passenger who was unaware of the situation is unacceptable.
