Siliguri, 21st November: On Tuesday, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb held a meeting with North Bengal Development Minister Udayan Guha in Uttarkanya. The meeting discussed several development-oriented works to be initiated in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) areas in cooperation with the North Bengal Development Department. During the meeting, the Mayor brought forward several proposals regarding several developmental works of the city.
According to reports, about twenty crore rupees will be allocated by the North Bengal Development Department for several developmental works including roads in the city. In addition, a bridge will be constructed in SMC’s Ward No. 34.
In this regard, Minister Udayan Guha stated funds will be allocated for the development of SMC areas. He added that the North Bengal Development Department will work for the development of roads and the construction of new bridges across North Bengal. Furthermore, he stated that solar lights are being installed in rural areas.
