Siliguri, 25th February: Even before the announcement of the Assembly election schedule, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb has initiated election campaigning through wall writing in the city.
Although the elections are yet to be officially declared, political parties have intensified their preparations. On Tuesday, the All India Trinamool Congress began its campaign activities in Siliguri through wall writing.
Speaking on the occasion, Deb said that the wall writing work would be completed swiftly and would not take much time. He stated that while the party has not yet announced its candidate, workers and supporters at all levels have already taken to the streets.
He further added that posters bearing the candidate’s name would be put up once the party formally announces its nominee. If the party selects him as the candidate, only then will posters carrying his name be displayed across the city walls.
