Siliguri, 17th June: NJP police arrested a man for attempting to rape a 9-year old girl by luring her for chocolates. The matter surfaced from the Porajhar area near Siliguri Kawakhali.
The accused Dhiren Byapari, on June 15, allegedly tried to rape the minor at his residence by luring her with chocolates. The matter came to light after Dhiren’s family members caught him red-handed. However, when the locals came to know about the episode, the accused fled away from the scene.
The victim’s family members filed a written complaint at the NJP police station against the accused. Based on the complaint, the police arrested the accused on Tuesday night.
Dhiren Byapari was produced before the Jalpaiguri court today.
