Siliguri, 28th October: Bablu Sau, a resident of Devidanga, has been accused of extorting around 40 lakh rupees from several people. He also allegedly stole the scooty of a man named Anjan Dey.
Reportedly, Bablu has been absconding since the 22nd of this month. Meanwhile, no one is being able to contact him as his mobile phone is switched off.
During a press conference at the Siliguri Journalists Club, Mainak Chakraborty, a human rights activist, stated that a complaint had been lodged in this regard at the Pradhan Nagar Police Station on October 24. However, no necessary steps have been taken by the police so far.
