Siliguri, 15th September: Siliguri is set to inaugurate its Modernized Food Street in the coming days. On Sunday, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation distributed food stalls to entrepreneurs through a lottery system. The Food Street has been set up on SF Road, featuring 20 stalls equipped with decorative lighting and benches for visitors.
As per reports, business owners had submitted their online applications to the Municipal Corporation by the previous Wednesday. A total of 1,029 applications were received, out of which 20 were selected through the lottery. The monthly rent for each stall is set at ₹1,000.
Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb was present during the lottery distribution. The mayor stated that the entire procedure was videographed to ensure transparency.
