Siliguri, 29th April: The hardest hit by the nation-wide lockdown are the poor, daily wagers, and the homeless. Most of them are facing severe economic challenges during the lockdown as they are hardly left with any money to support their livelihoods.
Since all work has been suspended down due to the ongoing lockdown, Saveri Das, a domestic helper and a resident of the Siliguri Ashighar area found an alternative solution to earn her living. She has been spotted selling flowers near the College Para area every day.
However, the alternative taken does not help Saveri earn enough asigis often sighted in the streets of Siliguri searching for food.
