Siliguri Deshbandhupara residents decide to take stern actions against people not wearing masks

Siliguri, 24th May: To deal with the coronavirus outbreak, the residents of the Siliguri Deshbandhupara Aban Thakur Sarani area have made it compulsory for people to wear mouth masks, failing which complaints will be filed against them.

Despite repeated reminders to stay home in lockdown 4.0, several people are regularly sighted loitering in various parts of the city without mouth masks. Following which, the residents of the said area, on Sunday, distributed COVID-19 awareness posters among the pedestrians and also handed over masks to the lockdown breachers free of cost.

Amit Sarkar, a local as well as an official of the Darjeeling District Legal Aid Forum, stated that from now on, they will note down the names of the people loitering around without wearing masks and send them to the district administration. Cases would then be filed against the breachers through the Legal Aid Forum.
