Siliguri: COVID-19 infected woman admitted at Matigara COVID hospital grows anxious of her husband’s swab test report

Siliguri, 30th May: A woman from Siliguri Ward No. 34, who recently returned from Chennai, tested COVID-19 positive and is currently undergoing treatment at the Matigara COVID Hospital. As per the information, she had traveled to Chennai with her family for her kidney treatment.


However, after being infected with the virus, the woman has grown extremely anxious concerning the health condition of her 3-month old son at home as well as her husband, who is currently admitted at the North Bengal Medical College- Hospital.
As per the information, lying in the hospital bed, the woman keeps crying the entire day worrying about her family and frequently asks the nurses regarding the test report of her husband.

It has been learned that although her husband’s swab was collected in NBMCH, a few days ago, the report has not yet arrived. According to hospital sources, as a huge number of tests are still pending, it is taking time for the reports to come.


Meanwhile, her husband, on Saturday morning, through a telephonic conversation, stated that no proper information is being given to him on behalf of the hospital authorities and further complained that the food provided to him at the hospital is inedible. The woman, on the other hand, asked him not to panic.

“I am extremely worried about my husband. We have not received his report yet. He is spending the entire day eating biscuits at the hospital. I hope the situation normalizes soon,” the woman stated.
