Siliguri, 01st May: In commemoration of May Day, the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) organized a Shramjeevi Adhikar Yatra in Siliguri. The event began with the flag hoisting ceremony at Mallaguri in front of the statue of revolutionary Khudiram Bose, followed by a grand procession that circled the main streets of the city and ended at Baghajatin Park.
The procession saw the participation of people from different castes and groups, with the primary aim of highlighting the rights of workers who are often deprived of various facilities. The members of the organization emphasized that the event was mainly organized to bring attention to the struggles faced by workers and their fundamental rights.
