Malda, 05th June: Seven shops were burnt to ashes in a catastrophic fire in the English Bazar police station Milky area on Thursday late night.
According to local sources, the fire broke out initially in a tea shop and the blaze eventually spread to the other shops. Upon receiving the news, two fire engines reached the spot and extinguished the fire after hours of effort.
Valuables worth lakhs were destroyed in the incident. However, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
