Siliguri, 04th July: In the wake of the Kasba gangrape case, concerns over student safety have prompted Siliguri College authorities to step up security measures. The college has decided to install additional CCTV cameras across the campus.
Until now, only 16 CCTV cameras were installed, covering limited areas such as parts of the campus and a few classrooms. There was no surveillance at the main entrance, raising concerns among students, parents, and faculty about overall security.
Following growing anxiety among students after the Kasba incident, the college administration has moved swiftly to address safety concerns. Principal Sujit Ghosh stated that ensuring student safety is their top priority and installation of CCTV cameras in all key areas of the campus will begin soon.
