Schools to reopen from Feb 12 following all safety measures

Siliguri, 11th February: The schools in West Bengal are to be partially opened from February 12 in compliance with the government guidelines. Classes will resume for students from class IX to XII.


Schools and colleges in the state were closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the schools across the country will re-open as per the guidelines issued by the centre. The school authorities have been instructed to follow all safety measures to prevent the spread of infection.

Atuha Bagchi, the headmistress of Siliguri Girls’ High School, said that the classrooms have already been sanitized. Classes will be taken with a certain number of students every day. A total of 27 students will be allowed inside a classroom. Two students will be seated on each bench and one student on the next bench. Awareness messages have been pasted across the entire school. Students will not be allowed to share their tiffin and water.
