Rise in COVID-19 cases: Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal calls for an all-party meeting

Due to the high rise of COVID-19 cases and the High court’s order, the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal has called for a meeting regarding COVID-19 guidelines. A representative of all the respective parties is said to attend the meeting.


As per the HC’s order, the state administration needs to follow COVID protocol and if someone fails to follow it or refuse to obey the protocol, strict action against the persons will be taken.

The High Court has given responsibilities to the District Magistrate and Chief Electoral Officier for ensuring the wearing of masks and following safe distancing norms at all gatherings.
