Siliguri: 08th May: A team from the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) in Jalpaiguri arrived at the scene today to investigate the mysterious death of Rajeev Sheikh. Accompanied by four forensic experts and the Pradhan Nagar police, they conducted a thorough inspection of the location. The investigative team recreated the events of the incident that took place on the fateful night. Additionally, the RFSL team recovered fingerprints and a bedsheet from inside the house. The bedsheet was reportedly used as the noose from which Rajeev was found hanging. Furthermore, there are discrepancies regarding the distance between the fan and the height of the deceased.
Reportedly, on April 29, Rajeev Sheikh’s lifeless body was discovered hanging from a noose in a flat connected to Margaret School under the jurisdiction of the Pradhan Nagar police station. Sources revealed that Rajeev had gone to the flat in response to a call from his girlfriend. Later, Rajeev’s girlfriend and some of her friends informed his family that he had taken his own life. Rajeev was rushed to Siliguri District Hospital but was declared dead by the doctors.
On April 30, Rajeev’s family filed a complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station, alleging murder against Rajeev’s girlfriend and her four friends. According to the family, Rajeev’s girlfriend lured him to her flat late at night and killed him with the assistance of her friends. As a result, Rajeev’s girlfriend, Snigdha Kabiraj, and her friends Riya Barman, Sonali Sharma, Somodip Mitra, and Samrat Bhattacharya were arrested.
It has been revealed that Snigdha Kabiraj, along with two friends from Alipurduar, was residing in a rented flat in the Pradhan Nagar area of Siliguri. Additionally, the investigation has uncovered a complex love triangle that may be connected to Rajeev’s mysterious death. An argument between Rajeev and his girlfriend reportedly occurred on the day of his demise. However, whether Rajeev’s death was a murder or suicide will only be determined through further investigation. Presently, all the accused have been produced in the Siliguri court, where the court has ordered their judicial custody.
