Rajganj, 15th January: The road in the Ambari area has been dilapidated for a long time, prompting local residents to demand its immediate repair.
The road stretches from the Ambari Karatoya Bridge to the Post Office Junction via the local high school. However, this road has been in poor shape for an extended period, causing significant inconvenience to daily commuters.
Locals have raised concerns that thousands of people travel on this road daily, including students attending the nearby high school, patients visiting the sub-health center, and shoppers visiting the Ambari market. The deteriorating condition of the road has made daily travel hazardous, with frequent accidents occurring.
The residents emphasized that the road’s poor condition is a daily struggle for commuters and a major obstacle for students, patients, and the general public.
Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed responded to the complaints, stating that the issue had been brought to the attention of the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri Development Authority. He confirmed that the road’s repair had been approved and assured that work would commence soon.
