Kolkata, 27th January: A Republic Day State Reception was held at Rajbhavan in Kolkata in the evening of January 26. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar accompanied by the First Lady Sudesh Dhankhar graced the event at Rajbhavan with their presence.
The programme commenced with the National Anthem played by the EFR Band. State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Speaker of West Bengal Legislative Assembly Biman Banerjee, Ex-Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Shyamal Sen, Hon’ble Justice of Calcutta High Court Dipankar Dutta and other dignitaries were also present in the event.
While the Governor along with the first Lady met and greeted the people present at the gathering, the EFR Band entertained the audience with the tune of patriotic songs.
Chief Secretary of West Bengal Rajib Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor Satish Chandra Tewary, Director General of West Bengal Police, Commissioner of Calcutta Police, Constitutional Functionaries, high officials of State and Central Government, high officials of Defence Services, Cultural personalities of the State, people from all cross-section of society and the Representatives of Media were present on this occasion.
