Cooch Behar, 26th January: The 71st Republic Day of India was celebrated by various organizations in different districts of North Bengal. Various programs were held at the Cooch Behar Rajbari Stadium. The District Magistrate of Cooch Behar Pawan Kadian hoisted the national flag.
At the same time, the District Magistrate of Alipurduar Surendra Kumar Meena celebrated the day by hoisting the National Flag at the Parade Ground in Alipurduar. The superintendent of Alipurduar Police Amitabh Maity was present during the event. The ‘Teranga Yatra’ was organized by the Falakata Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad which commenced from the Mill More and toured various parts of the city.
On the other hand, Republic Day was also celebrated at the Biswa Bangla Sports Complex in Jalpaiguri. Jalpaiguri District Magistrate Abhishek Tiwari hoisted the flag at around 9 am today. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Modi was also present during the event. District Police Band, District Police Force and NCC students of various schools and colleges of the district participated in the march on Republic Day. Various tablos were held on behalf of the various government departments.
