Rajganj, 27th June: 280 gunny bags of rice, 280 tins of mustard oil, and eggs were distributed among several families of two Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) in the Mantadari beat office area.
Besides, tins were provided to 70 families of another JFMC. A wheelchair was also provided to a disabled person.
State Forest Minister Rajib Banerjee, MLA Khageshwar Roy, CCF (Northern Circle) J.B. Chhetri, Additional PCCF (North Bengal) V.K. Sood, DFO N Umarani, Belakoba Range Officer Sanjay Dutta were present during the programme.
The Forest Minister stated that an initiative has been taken to reopen Bengal Safari Park as well as the zoos in West Bengal. However, the final decision will be taken after holding a meeting on Monday.
