Rajganj, 27th January: Mozaffar Rahman, a resident of Madrasa village in Belakoba’s Majhabari area, lost his ability to walk after he met with an accident, three months ago. His family was struggling to make ends meet along with his medical treatment.
As the matter came to notice, Salugara Ranger Sanjay Dutta provided financial assistance to the family.
As per the report, Mozaffar was initially treated at a private hospital in Siliguri for several days before being referred to South India for advanced treatment. Ranger Sanjay Dutta stood by their side ever since the accident occurred. Although Mozaffar’s health has improved, he is still unable to walk. Dutta visited his house and provided financial help to the family.
The Ranger has a long history of stepping up for the needy in trying times. Besides his social work, Dutta has headed task force for undercover operations to control poaching and illegal wildlife trade in the region. He received the Clark R Bavin Wildlife Law Enforcement Award “for dedicated efforts to extinguish wildlife crime and illegal trade, including his work to successfully end timber trafficking in his district and combat rhino poaching.“ In 2017, Bengal’s government honoured him with the ‘Best Wildlife Protection Award’.
