Rajganj, 20th September: The embankment of the Karatoya-Talma irrigation canal has broken, causing trouble for local residents. The incident occurred in the Sahebpara area, adjacent to Ambari in the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block.
Reportedly, a few days ago, water was released into the Karatoya irrigation canal. However, on Thursday afternoon, several sections of the canal embankment collapsed as water flowed through it. This has led to traffic problems for residents in the Sahebpara area.
Villagers reported that cracks had been visible in parts of the irrigation canal for a long time. On Thursday, several sections broke due to the water pressure, though no major accident occurred. A number of farmers are expected to face challenges in farming due to a lack of water. Locals are now demanding urgent repairs to the irrigation canals to prevent further damage and disruptions.
