Rajganj, 25th May: All India Trinamool Congress leader and Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed was arrested in connection with a post-poll violence case linked to the 2021 Assembly elections.
According to reports, he was arrested by Bhorer Alo police based on allegations related to post-poll violence that took place after the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections.
Police sources said a raid was conducted at his residence on Sunday night, following which he was taken into custody. The arrest was reportedly made as part of an ongoing investigation into incidents of post-poll violence.
The accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri District Court on Monday. However, no reaction has been received from the Trinamool Congress regarding the incident so far.
