Rajganj, 21st March: Trinamool Congress candidate Swapna Barman is mourning the demise of her father, casting a shadow of grief over the constituency amid the ongoing political campaign atmosphere.
Panchanan Barman, father of the Rajganj assembly constituency Trinamool Congress candidate Swapna Barman, passed away at a private hospital in Siliguri early on Saturday morning. He had been unwell for several days and was undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
Due to her father’s illness, Swapna Barman had been busy attending to him over the past few days. She had also offered prayers for his speedy recovery. His demise has left the gold medal-winning athlete and candidate deeply shaken.
A pall of grief has descended over the political circles as well, with condolences being expressed from various quarters.
