Rajganj, 28th July: The Rajganj police, on Tuesday, arrested a man on the charges of robbery. The arrested accused has been identified as Shahidul alias Asinul Islam, a resident of Rajganj’s Jamidar para under Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat.
It is to be noted that on July 13, a burglary at a mobile phone store near Rajganj police station was reported. Apart from a few new mobiles and equipment, several thousand rupees were stolen. Following the incident, shop owner Uttam Roy had lodged a written complaint at the police station.
Based on the shop’s CCTV footage, the Rajganj police launched an investigation under the leadership of CI Dipajjwal Bhowmik and successfully got hold of the accused on Tuesday.
The stolen items have been recovered from his possession. The arrested accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri court today.
