Rajganj, 15th January: Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy accompanied by the representatives of the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat visited the residence of the deceased youth and his friend who lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the day of his sister’s rice ceremony (Annaprashan). The incident took place in the Farabari area under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block. The deceased brother has been identified as Shubho Barman and his friend Sentiyal Paharia.
As per details received, on Sunday, the rice ceremony of Subho’s sister was organized at his residence in Bhelkipara of Binnaguri Gram Panchayat. Before the ceremony, the youth went to Nepali Basti by motorcycle to pick up his friend. While returning home, his two-wheeler rammed into a tree in the Farabari area. Consequently, both friends sustained severe injuries. After the incident, the police, assisted by the locals transported the injured to the Siliguri District Hospital where the medical professionals declared them dead.
Reportedly, on Monday morning, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy and the representatives of Binnaguri Gram Panchayat visited the house of the deceased youth and spoke to the family members. In this regard, the MLA expressed shock at the death of the two youths. He stated that he met with the family and expressed his condolences. Further, the MLA also assured the family of all possible assistance.
