Rajganj, 14th January: On Sunday, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy laid the foundation stone for a 2.5-kilometer stretch of road from Telipara to Akalugachh under the Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block.
According to reports, around one crore rupees will be spent from the funding of the North Bengal Development Department (NBDD) in the making of this road. Significantly, the road is being constructed at an estimated budget of Rs 94 lakhs.
In this regard, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy remarked that the locals of the region had demanded the reconstruction work for a prolonged time due to its significance in commuting across the area. He added that the construction of the road would be highly beneficial for the commuters of the area.
