Rajganj, 26th February: On Monday, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy and Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Krishna Roy Barman laid the foundation stone of three new roadways in Rajganj. During this, Zilla Parishad member Ranbir Majumdar, Shikarpur Gram Panchayat Pradhan Prabha Kujur, Mantadari Gram Panchayat Pradhan Archana Roy, Arindam Banerjee and others were present.
According to reports, on this day, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a 6-kilometer roadway heading from Fakotia More under the Shikarpur Gram Panchayat to Chilka Para via Dhoper Haat. Significantly, the road is being constructed with the funding of the Zilla Parishad at an estimated budget of Rs 1 crore. Subsequently, the foundation stone was laid to construct about a 1.4-kilometer road stretch connecting a bridge in the Simulguri village area under Mantadari Gram Panchayat. In addition, the foundation stone was laid for constructing a roadway on the Ameti More road adjacent to Belakoba.
In this regard, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy stated that the foundation stone of several roads was laid on this day. He added that these roads were in dilapidated condition which prompted the action.
