Rajganj, 05th October: Raghunath Roy, a resident of Fulbari Purba Dhantala in Rajganj, lives under severe crisis with his wife and child. Despite owning a disability certificate, Roy receives no government assistance. Hence, he is compelled to beg to feed his family.
It has been learned that Roy suffered from typhoid at a young age of seven which eventually led to leg paralysis. Despite having a 75 percent disability certificate, he is deprived of the disability allowance from the government. At present, he is surviving with the help of a tricycle provided by a private association.
In this context, Ujjwal Rahman, a local teacher, stated that he is deprived of government help despite having a disability certificate. He further claimed of helping him during the lockdown period.
