Rajganj, 08th December: Rajganj BDO, during his visit to the residences of the area to distribute caste certificates, conducted a surprise visit to a primary school. During his visit, the BDO also ate mid-day meal with the students. In addition, he listened to the grievances of the guardians and students.
According to reports, Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman toured several places including the Sukhani and Panikauri areas of Rajganj block to distribute caste certificates. Subsequently, he visited Baldapukur Netaji Subhash Primary School. During this, the BDO expressed dissatisfaction upon witnessing mid-day meal being served to the students in the open.
Meanwhile, the guardians as well as the students raised several allegations against the school administration, to the BDO. After taking into account the grievances, the officer ate the food prepared for the mid-day meal, with the students.
In this regard, the students alleged that proper education is not being imparted in the school. In addition, the teachers allegedly arrived late. This prompted the BDO to caution the school teachers. After listening to the complaints, the BDO cautioned the teachers of the school of action upon receiving further complaints.
Speaking to the media, Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman stated he was passing along the road leading to the school while distributing caste certificates and noticed the children eating in the open. Consequently, he initiated a move to check the quality of food. He added that several classrooms of the school were grubby. Furthermore, he stated that the grievances of the students and guardians will be highly considered.
