Jalpaiguri, 09th March: One railway worker identified as Nishakar Chandra Kumar died while working on a railway electrical line, while three more workers were severely injured in the incident. The injured have been identified as Satyajit Saha, Anil Kumar Singh, and Avinash Kumar.
Reportedly, maintenance work was being carried out in the middle of Teesta bridge in the Bala Para area near Jalpaiguri road station. Suddenly locals rushed to the spot upon hearing a loud sound. They found Nishakar lying dead on the spot. The three other injured individuals were admitted to Jalpaiguri Super Speciality Hospital.
Meanwhile, Maynaguri GRP and RPF personnel of Jalpaiguri Road station reached the spot after receiving the news. The locals alleged that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the railways.
