Siliguri, 29th December: Residents of the Dabgram-Fulbari constituency continue to face severe civic issues, including poorly maintained roads and inadequate water supply, leaving many deprived of basic services.
BJP MLA Shikha Chatterjee has repeatedly raised concerns that development work in the area has stalled due to lack of cooperation from the state government. While broken roads, water shortages, and insufficient street lighting persist, the most pressing problem reportedly remains the railway underpass near Indian Oil Junction. Large potholes accumulate water, leading to frequent accidents on a daily basis.
Local residents have also accused the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA), responsible for maintenance, of remaining inactive. They noted that prior to 2021, development work was ongoing in the area, but the situation has worsened significantly since then.
