Siliguri, 17th June: Following the tragic train accident in Rangapani, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) to meet the injured. He was accompanied by Darjeeling MP Raju Bista.
During his visit, the Railway Minister ensured that the injured were receiving proper medical care. Addressing reporters afterward, Minister Vaishnaw confirmed that eight people had died in the incident. He commended the swift rescue efforts by locals, the district administration, NDRF, and SDRF.
He added that an investigation into the cause of the accident has been initiated, with findings expected to be revealed upon its completion.
