Kharibari, 22nd October: Local residents have staged a protest in Kharibari, alleging substandard construction at the Anganwadi center. The protestors have expressed frustration towards the contracting firm responsible for the project.
According to reports, the Kharibari Block Development Office has been overseeing the construction of the Anganwadi center in Keshordoba, funded by the RIDF (Rural Infrastructure Development Fund) with an allocation of ₹11,13,000. Locals claimed that low-quality materials have been used in the construction, resulting in crumbling walls and cracks in the ceiling. As a result, residents are demanding that the work be executed properly, which prompted them to demonstrate against the quality of the construction.
In response, Kharibari BDO Dipti Saha stated over the phone that an engineer would be sent to investigate the situation. She assured that if the allegations are confirmed, necessary action will be taken against the contracting firm.
