Cooch Behar, 20th January: The residents of the Cooch Behar Chakchaka Checkpost area staged a protest against the death of a student due to negligence in treatment. The deceased has been identified as Partho Bhowmik, an eleventh-grade student of Chakchaka High School.
According to sources, the deceased was injured in a road accident on Saturday after which he was rushed to a local nursing home. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. The locals alleged that Partho died due to negligence in treatment.
After the incident, the residents of the area staged a protest by blocking NH-31. Upon receiving the news, the Pundibari police reached the spot and have launched an investigation into the incident.
